Here we are day 3 of week 1 of the Summer cup and most of you must have noticed that the site is a bit problematic. We apologize for this inconvenience and as a solution we will use the league site for this edition of the summer cup. Please, follow
Here are the important steps to setup a match :
- No more challenges. Contact the team you wish to play against via IRC, site pm or email and agree on a date and time for the match.
- Pass on the date and time of the match to a member of the Urban-Zone crew who will insert it in the upcoming matches. You can find referees and admins in our irc channel #urban-zone at irc.quakenet.org and there is contact information for individual referees
- Play the match and have fun
- Send the match results to league@urban-zone.org . The results will then be inserted into the site by a member of the staff.
As you can see this won't divert much from the usual system of Urban-Zone League, it's very simple.
Some teams registered for the cup aren't registered in the the league site, the team leaders will have to create them again on this site. The teams are as follows: |CG|, eG", fu"", [fuzs], KGS, ~MH~, +OC+, P|, 'tavsan, vv, wCh| .
We have entered your challenges into upcoming matches (or we will enter them as soon as you sign your team up again) and we will enter ALL results from matches you already played as soon as you send us your screenshots. Once again, the email is league@urban-zone.org
And don't forget, you can zorbot for UZ summer cup official matches, there are a lot of teams waiting to play :)

The theme for this week is OVERPLAYED :) and your maps are: ut4_abbey, ut4_algiers, ut4_casa, ut4_turnpike, and ut4_uptown
You can play ANY gametype you want, just download your configs here:
Sign ups will remain open all through summer, so teams can join the cup any time they want.

Here we are with UZ Summer Cup 2009 giving you all an opportunity to play during the summer as much or as little as you want.
This is a challenge cup – you challenge other teams and accept challenges from other teams, send screenshots to staff, enter your own results and wait for an admin to confirm them. You can play as little or as much as you want – once a week, once every two weeks, or every single day. At the end of the summer, the team with the highest score will become the official winner of the cup and collect a nice award.
Challenging is simple –the teamleader/owner logs in, clicks CHALLENGE! in his profile menu, picks the team he wants to challenge, sets the day, chooses map and gametype (use the "Server" field to specify gametype), and sends the challenge. The accepted challenge will appear in CHALLENGES and can be played. When a challenge match is played (in two maps, since the opponent picks one map, too), enter the results in MY MATCHES or confirm the results entered by your opponents. The results will be approved by a referee as soon as your screenshots are received. Screenshots can be emailed to league@urban-zone.org or given to a referee. There also might be a slight delay in entering confirmed results. Please be patient – referees are working on their personal time and we want our vacations, too.
Your votes decided that this summer we will be playing all team gametypes (ctf, ts, bomb, tdm, cah, ftl) at any time during the Summer Cup. One thing that did not change compared to last year are theme weeks. You wanted to play specific maps each week and that’s what we are going to do. For each week, we have chosen a specific group of maps to be played. Just make sure that the newer maps you decide to use support the gametype you have chosen.
Here is a short overview of the weeks and themes:
Week 1 – July 13 till July 19 - OVERPLAYED
maps: ut4_abbey, ut4_algiers, ut4_casa, ut4_turnpike, ut4_uptown
Week 2 – July 20 till July 26 – QUEENBEE AND DRAGONNE
maps: ut4_dville, ut4_wildwest, ut4_ftdicks, ut4_nuclear, ut4_druglord, ut4_druglord2, ut4_pgrounds, ut4_pgrounds2, ut4_citygardens, ut4_offshore, ut4_filtration
Week 3 – July 27 till August 2 – SYMMETRY
maps: ut4_abbeyctf, ut4_dressingroom, ut4_oildepot, ut4_snoppis, ut4_riyadh, ut4_subway
Week 4 – August 3 till August 9 – RARE STANDARDS
maps: ut4_austria, ut4_crossing, ut4_ramelle, ut4_tunis, ut4_elgin, ut4_swim, ut4_thingley, ut4_prague
Week 5 – August 10 till August 16 – ANY MAP
maps: standard urt maps plus standard third party maps: ut4_sliema, ut4_paradise, ut4_village, ut4_laneway4_beta
Week 6 – August 17 till August 23 – BRAND NEW
maps: ut4_paris_v1, ut4_kingdom_rc4, ut4_kingpin_rc4, ut4_maximus_v1, ut4_orbital, ut4_rundown, ut4_splendid, ut4_losttemple_b2, ut4_twins_beta3
Week 7 – August 24 till August 30 – OVERSIZED
maps: ut4_ambush, ut4_eagle, ut4_harbortown, ut4_maya, ut4_tombs, ut4_mandolin, ut4_sanc, ut4_suburbs, ut4_toxic
CTF config: no wave respawns
Some of the new maps may not support all gametypes. Make sure they do support the gametype you pick before playing them.
You will need Urban Zone configs for each gametype – they are all available in the cup site, just download them, copy them into your server, and exec (for example, /rcon exec uz5v5ctf). They all have similar names (uz5v5ctf, uz5v5nowave, uz5v5ts, uz5v5bomb, uz5v5cah, uz5v5tdm, uz5v5ftl). All passwords are pre-set in the config, change them at will. You can also download all cup custom maps for your servers individually from and as a pack from . And, of course, auto-download is enabled thanks to wdp who is hosting all the maps.
CTF, BOMB, CAH and FTL will be played in two maps of 10+10 minutes. TS will be played in two maps of 20 minutes. TDM will be played in two maps of 8+8 minutes.

We are happy to inform you that we have just opened sign ups for Urban Zone Summer Cup 2009. Unlike in the league, all teams are welcome to sign up and play - European, Asian, or American.
The system is simple - play as many games as you want to and score as much as possible. The team with the highest total score wins.
Your votes decided that we will be playing all gametypes this time at once, so feel free to play ctf, ts, bomb, tdm, ftl, and cah as you wish - your pcws can finally earn you points since even losses add points to your final count.
Well, without much ado, find the sign up link in your left-hand menu and sign your team up. We will start playing next week (Monday - July 13) so you can start challenging other teams as soon as they are added to the list of available teams.

A big thank you to all the clans for participating in the summercup 2008!
Some clans took the cup more serious than others and have accumulated quite impressive scores!
Main objective of the cup was to try something different on many fronts and to of course have fun, we hope that
you enjoyed it, big props to serial who wrestled countless hours with the bit buggy cup script :)
