Team Spain's start of this NC was not the one they were hoping for. In fact, they faced Austria-Hungary team which was supposed to be the underdog but didn't manage to gain any points. AUT-HU won both Tohunga and Austria in TS mode securing the victory and lowering KanTinaHs crew's mood.
With Nederlands and Germany (other than Asean+3 and Venezuela) still remaning, the possibility to see Spain into the playoff tree wasn't very high. Spain managed to beat every opponent, though (Nederlands quitted the cup due to inactivity, shame) and secured the second spot in Group B, a very tough one.
Brazil, instead, ended up in a slightly easier group with two strong teams such as France Tanks and their Portuguese cousins but also with less skilled teams like United Kingdom, Colombia and Canada (who also quitted due to inactivity, shame again). Despite losing against Klad's and OneBullet's teams, Brazil won the remaining matches and managed to make it to the playoff thanks to the 3rd spot in Group A.
This match will be a very even one, although ping difference can be a deciding factor. A USA server will host this match and pings will be fairly even although SA teams are more used to this scenario than European teams who mostly play in continental low ping servers. Brazil has a strong TS tradition and a peculiar Casa tactic, features that make the South Americans a very tough opponent for everyone. Spain can field a more complete lineup in every gametype, though. That's why they picked Abbey CTF. We shouldn't be surprised to see a 3rd decider map.
The winner of this match will face Nordic team.
