There is also the possibility that 2 different people have 2 different concept of "fun".
Some people get more fun by doing things seriously, other people don't
Relativism rulez!!!
the point of interest to me would be to understand how many people would prefer stricter rules, and how many people would not.
Not quite right in this context. We're either permissive and everyone's definition of "fun" applies to their clan only and their... let's say, competitiveness, or we're changing gear and get too authoritative, to the point where it becomes too bothersome for most to get involved.
Basically, your attention moved from what your clan's doing to how the other ones are allowed to participate, on how volatile, prepared and 'recognized' they should be - I don't see why this is such an important point for some of you, especially since you all are free to be as dictatorial as you wish in your own groups. As for the bigger picture and considering the community, I see no incentive for anyone to police this in a competition where everyone has to prove himself only by winning, anyway.

- SailorMoonStunning how killing time and having fun has become such a concern for some of you.
If you're unable to enjoy a quick frag session with some friends of yours, then by all means stop doing it

count in one admin on the "would not" - I maintain we're here to provide competition to anyone willing to give it a go. we're strict in our no-cheats policy. we're kind of strict on the "limit the insults" policy. we've even added a shitload of extra work to our usual ballast by enforcing fairly strict transfer rules because it was something people really cared about. but if there is one thing i draw the line at, it's elitism in this form, i.e. excluding new teams, teams which are new because people from 2, 3 different teams joined into one to keep playing, etc.
