what version of osx is your friend running?
everthing prior to osx lion:
Harddrive/Users/Usename/Library/Application Support/Quake3/q3ut4/demos
on osx lion and mountain lion it's the same path but you have to make your library folder visable before you can access the demo folder:
open terminal > type chflags nohidden ~/Library > press enter > folder is visable now

or just search for osx 10.7 application folder in google... it's not too tricky
