This site will remain online as a part of urban-zone history, or untill we find a way of transferring all matches and season results to the new website.

Unfortunatly the TS league teams could not be transferred to this new site. You will have to make a new team and register again, sorry for the hassle but we believe that in the end it will all be worth it!

Finally the season is over and we again had a lot of fun doing it. We had many new teams but we also saw many old clans again. It‘s cool to see that you guys are following us and keeping us alive!

Let's start with one of the newest things. As you all saw, we have moved to a brand new website. We are not working with KMLeague anymore and this was the last season with our old system. In the future we are going to use Kendle's "Dragonfly" - a great new system Kendle keeps adjust almost daily to our needs, for which we are enormously grateful. We had a good time with KMLeague but we have to make a step forward and go to the future.

With the new system we are also going one step forward with anti-cheat. We talked about it and so we decided to play with UAC2 for the time being. We are aware of some issues relating to it and thus we are taking it for a "test drive" during our Summer Cup to see if we can become friends. Maybe we‘ll see UrT 4.2 with a working anticheat soon and make your and our lives a little easier ;)

Now let‘s go to this season. First i want to say: It was awesome again, thanks to you all! We had many active teams and there were very, very many really good matches. Toward the end of the season we experienced some inactivity due to people having exams or going on holidays and, sadly, some good teams dropped out. But things are not that bad since they have the chance to play next season again! Thanks to each and every team for their activity and for playing at Urban Zone.

There were so many teams which improved this season - quite a feat! We had Grzmiace Dupy which went from Division 2 to the top of Division 1. I think nearly no one expected that and they have our congratulations. But GD weren't the only ones improving. We also had our eyes on Humping Whores and FLAP who both did an awesome job in their division by beating Bullets and Holes reinforced by a number of Division 1 players, such as Slicey or Sutaffu. It‘s always nice to see that hard work really brings forth new up and coming teams.

We'd also like to take the opportunity to thank some guys which even made this cup possible. First of all H1tm4n for making all these beautiful awards after TwK dropped his job and left us hanging at the end of the season. Another person high up on the list is Taranis from octoris.com who sponsored gameservers for the league. And we also want to thank our crew for making this season possible. Thank you.

Match of the Season: This match was also the Division decider of Div. 1. aesir. vs -fox.- was a really intensive match and was cool to watch. So we decided to give them the award!

Most Improved: Our most improved team is also the winner of the Lower Division Allstar match! A really small clan with just 6 members called |O_o| won this award. You did an awsome job guys. Was cool to see you playing.

Golden Dildo Award and the Golden Pacifier Award: This Season we decided to give those awards toooooooooooo: NO ONE!. We didn't had big idiots or much flamers this season - so we decided that no one deserves this award. If someone still wants this award he can pick it up here.

And we've got a winner! Aesir are this season's new allstar team :)

The first map went to GD who convincingly won CTF on turnpike. The second map was orbital_sl in TS mode, this went to Aesir. The match needed a third map to decide who are the allstars of this season. The admins proposed that the map would be played in bomb mode to make it as fair as possible for both teams. In the end Aesir proved to be the best on sanctuary.

Allstar Game:

Like the last Seasons we will bring you an Allstar Game for this season too. But this year it well be something new too. For the reason that we had much work with the new Homepage we decided to do it like this:

The Division 1 Winner of CTF will play vs the Division 1 Winner of TS.

The Teams we have taken for that are:

So we will have a polish derby for the Allstar award!

The Game will happen on the 20.6.2010 @ 22:00. And of course we will bring up a GTV for that game!

A How-To about the new Homepage!

As you might have heard we're working on our third Summer Cup, what you probably don't know is that we're going to use new league software. We said we would combine both leagues in the new KMLeague version currently being used by the TS League, but thanks to Kendle (www.leaguecms.co.uk/) we've been offered a spanking new League Management System.

You can find the new site here : www.urban-zone.org/dragonfly. Everybody that was registered on the CTF League can login without having to create a new account, sorry for the inconvenience TS League people. The website is still a work in progress but the foundations have been laid. You can already sign up for the Summer Cup 2010 (you can find the instructions further on in this article). The design will get a complete overhaul, if you are a graphics designer or think you can help us, or know someone who might be interested please contact us, we've got a lot of work on our plates.

Now you may ask yourselves "what was wrong with the old software?" our answer would be "it's like wrestling a lubed up rhinoceros with a bad temper". In short, we'll be able to do a lot more with this software that would ever have been possible with KMLeague, for instance you will be able to process your own scores, the opponent will only need to confirm the score and the site will be updated instantaneously. But we'll also work more on the community side of Urban-Zone, we're working on a download area where you can download all your maps/movies/urbanterror files etc. But most importantly we'll have the help and support we need from Kendle to customize the site to our liking.

I know I've just been bashing KMLeague, but we've been using the KMLeague software since 2007 when we were still called iourt.com and it has made possible that we could run this league for 3.5 years fairly successfully. For that I would like to thank the KMLeague developers for making this piece of software ;) available for free.

Anyway, moving on to the Summer Cup 2010! Last year we had 35 active clans hopefully we can beat that number this year. As usual all of the following game types are allowed : Capture the Flag (CTF), Team Survivor (TS), Bomb mode (bomb), Team Deathmatch (TDM), Capture and Hold (CNH) and Follow the Leader (FTL). Each week will have one game mode that gives +1 point, so instead of the regular 5-3-1 point distribution it will be 6-4-2. There is one thing though, both clans have to choose that game type, so make sure you discuss this before playing (we don't want drama). We'll also have weekly maps like we had in the last Winter Cup, and possibly limited gear, something that was a lot of fun in the last Summer Cup. More details will follow!

As it looks like Urban Terror 4.2 is a long way off we have decided to use UAC2 during the Summer Cup, people that can't use UAC2 (Mac and Linux users) must upload all demo's, for the smart asses we can see what OS you are using so don't even think about avoiding it, instructions on installation and usage will follow. We still require all players to keep their demo's on your hard drive until the cup is over and sometime after!

Signing up
We have done our best to copy all players and teams from the CTF League, unfortunately we weren't able to do the same for the TS League, so clans that we're only TS will have to register again.

Creating a New Clan
Clan leaders, register your account (if you don't have one already), login, in the left hand menu go to "Home" -> "Competition". In the top menu it says "My Teams" click there and "Create a New Team".
Now go to "My Teams" click on your team name, and fill in you "Team Profile" you can leave "logo" and "recruitment message" empty, but the rest needs to be filled in for the website to accept your signup in the league. Once you've done that you need to complete the roster, again in "My Teams" click on your team name, go to "Roster" and search for your players, note they MUST be registered on the site or you can't add them to the roster.

Now you are ready to sign up, go to "My Teams" click there, select your team and put something in the profile, it doesn't matter what just type something. Now go back to "Competition", there you'll see Summer Cup 2010, all the way on the right you have the "Options" click on the small chain icon . Congratulations, you've successfully signed up for the Summer Cup 2010.

Old Clans
In the left menu go to "Home" -> "Competition" then in the top you'll have a like to "My Teams" click there, select your team and put something in the profile, it doesn't matter what just type something. Now go back to "Competition", there you'll see Summer Cup 2010, all the way on the right you have the "Options" click on the small chain icon . Congratulations, you've successfully signed up for the Summer Cup 2010.

If you have any questions please ask the admins, we understand that learning a new "system" is annoying but in the long run it will be worth it, thanks!
